The City of Tigard has receivod a complaint that an apparent viola,-ion of
Section 7.40.020, Noxious Vegetation exists on property under your control
at 8825 SW Reiling in Tigard. Please be advised that it is
your responsibility to maintain, this property to avoid any likelihood of
fire. Your cooperation in taking immediate action to prevent a violation of
the municipal code is appreciated.
For your information, the applicable code provision reads as follows:
7.40.020 Noxious Vegetation. The owner, person in possession or agent of
the owner of any lot, tract , or parcel of land, improved or unimproved,
shall, during the months of May, June, July, ALigust and September of each
year, cut and remove, and keep cut and removed therefrom and from the half
of the street or streets abutting the property, all weeds, thistles,
burdock, ferns and other noxious vegetation, and all grass more than teen
inches in height, and all dead bushes, dead trees, stumps and any other
thing likely to cause fire.
Nothing herein contained shall be considered to apply to bushes, trees,
shrubbery and/or other vegetation grown for food, fuel or ornamert or for
the production of food, fuel or ornament, providing than the health and
safety of the public be not thereby endangered by the maintenance of such
growth or vegetation. (Ord. 72-21 Art. 9 52, 1972.).
Your attention to this matter is greatly appr.eciatel. Failure to comply with
the code provision could result in issuance of a citation.
