Draftstops: Draftstops shall be placed in attic areas be- tween units where 2-hour area separation walls are not installed. Draftstops shall be installed directly over tenant separation walls. (UBC Sec. 2516(f)4A(i.i_) 13. Firestopping: In all wood-framed walls and partitions, firestopping consisting of 2-inch nominally-sized lumber or other approved materials must be installed at all floor and ceiling levels. Penetrations in this pre- scribed firestopping to accommodate wiring, plumbing, and ether similar utility runs must be packed with noncombustible materials in an approved manner so as ti) prevent the passage of flame. (TIBC Sec. 2516) 14. Address Re%!ired: The tenant space number must be prominently displayed on the street front where it is readily visible to drivers and officers of responding apparatus and other emergency vehicles. (UFC Sec. 10.28) 15. Insulation Flame Spread The insulation, including breather papers and vapor barriers which are not in contact with the upper surface of the ceiling and under surface of the floor, as the case may be, must have a flame spread rating of not to exceed 25 and a smoke development classification of not greater than 450 as measiired on the Steiner Tunnel Test scale referred to as UBC Standard No. 42-1. (UBC Ser. . 1713) 1G. Landings at Doors: There must be a floor or landing on each side of all doors. The floor or landing must not be more than one inch lower than the threshold of the doorway unless serving access for the physically handicapped.
