Mr. & Mrs. Ritch~_e: On February 13, 1987 an inspection was conducted to determine the requirements for converting a portion of a "day care facility" to a "dwelling unit's at the above referenced address. After review of the building the following would be required for including a dwelling unit on the second floor: 1. A one hou: Hie resistive occupancy separation will be required from t[Le daycare (I-1) occupancy and the dwelling (R-3) occupancy, which includes: a. A one hour wall constructed on the second floor, around the stairweii (wood etude at 16 inches on center, 5/8 inch type "X" gypsum wallboard on each aide r,f wall.) . b. Living areas shall be provided with windows which have an area of not less than one-tenth of the floor area -- windowp shall be one-half openable. 3. Rooms used for sleeping purposes shall be provided with one window which has a minimum openable area of 5.7 square feet, minimum 24 inch openable height and 20 inch openable width, maximum sill hetgh'_ of 44 inches„ 4. A smoke detector shall be provided adiecent to room used for sleeping purposes. 5.
