This is a Fire and Life Safety Plen Review and is based on the
1988 editions of the Fire and Life Safety Code (UBC) ,
Mecthan.ical Fire and Life Safety Code (UMC) , Uniform Fire Code

The purpose of this letter is to confirm the items that we discussed in a meeting at
the project site this morning. The purpose for the meeting was to go over the
additional exit lights and the emergency lighting requirements. Also attending the
meeting were Dan Lawyer with F. Carl Schiewe, Inc. , and Russ Smith with Bohm Electric.
We will add the two additional directional exit lights as required on the permit set
of drawings. One of these lights will be installed at the western end of room 120
and will be dol-ble-faced to direct people to doors 125 and 126. The second light will
be installed between rooms 119 and 12.0 and will be single •- faced to direct people
to door 127.
As we discussed, we will provide a separate source of power for all exit lights in
accordance with Section 3313 of the Uniform Building rode. We will also provide
additional exit illumination with battery pack spot lights supplying a light with an
intensity of 1 foot candle at the floor level .
Finally, we will add sprinkler heads as required to provide protection to the attic
space between the glu-lam beam and the double framed wall at the entrance to room 120.

the 1982 editions of the State of Oregon Structural Spe—
cialty Code and fire and Life Safety Code (UBC ), the State
