To address your query pertaining to dead-sand corridors, I have enclosed a copy of text from the ICBO ""Handbook to the Uniform Building Code" which explains Section 3305(e) Access to Exits. A reading of the unamended code ' will show dead-ends limited to 20 feet. The current "Oregon Amendment" to this section allows dead-ends of up to 30 feet in office occupancy tenant spaces. This amendment was originally adopted to provide exit requirements which were compatible with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, which was in common use by fire marshals. As you will note, the key to the question 1.9 number of required exits. When only one exit is required, dead ends are allowed. f That was certainly a long-winded dissertation.
