Thi_ '.s a Fire and Life Safety Plan Review and is based an the
1988 editions of the Fire and Life Safety Code (UBC) ,
Mechanical Fire and Life Safety Code (UMC) , Uniform Fire Code
i (UFC) , and other local ordinances and regulations.
Plans are conditionally approved as submitted, subject to the
following items:
1 . Automatic Sprinkler Plans: Plans referred to and
examined by this office contain no provisions for the
alteration or installation of automatic sprinkler
system. Not less than three sets of plans for the
installation shall be submitted to this office for
approval prior to installation. UBC 302(b)

2. Mechani^al Plans Requi.r_d: Plans referred to and
examined by this office contained no plans for heating
i or air conditioning systems. Unless electric baseboard
heat is employed, complete mechanical system plans for
the HVAC equipment and duct work must be submitted to
and approved by this office prior to installation. UBC
Sec. 302

Note: For battery charging facilities, ventilation
shall be installed to handle necessary discharge of
I hydrogen gas from batteries.
3. Fire Extinguisher Requirements: Not less than one (1)
approved fire extinguisher(s) with rating of not less
than (*) shall be provided for each (**) square feet of

4 . Approved Plans un Job Site: One set of approved plans
bearing the stamps of the building department issuing M
the construction permit and this office must be
maintained on the project site throughout all phases of
construction and must be made available to b7iilding and
fire inspectors for reference during required
construction inspections. ;IBC Sec. 303
5. Required Occupancy Certificate: Prior to the use and
occupancy of the project (space) , a certificate of
occupancy or other written inL,trumerit of approval must
be obtained from the building department issuing the
construction permit. UBC Sec. 307
