This plan review is based on the requirements of the 1979 Oregon State Struc-
tural and Fire Life Safety Speciality Code and local ordinances.
1 , rhe wall referred to as "Future D' 511` must be Installed at the time the build-
ing shell is constructed. Any Openings in such wall shall be protected by IN hour
fire-resistive anseirlblics.
2. Not less than one portable fire extinguisher, having a minimum rating of 2A-IORC,
shall be provided for each 6,000 square feet of area. Travel distance to such
extinguisher shall not exceed 75 feet.
3. Tenant modification plans must be submitted for review and approval prior to any
alterations.
4. This structure is reviewed as a B-2 occupancy. if a more hazardous occupancy is de-
sired, the building may require additional 2-hour walls or an automatic extinguish-
ing systim.
5. Buildings erected or converted to house high piled st-)ck shall conform with the
1979 Uniform Fire Code. (Article 81)

1 . Exit corridors require separation from any other area by one-hour fire resistive
construction. Sec. 3304(g)
2. Door assemblies of interior openings to corridors are required to have a fire
resistance rating of not less than 20 minutes and must be self-closing or automatic-
closing. Relights in corridors require wired glass set in fixed (steel ) framing.
See 1979 State Structural Specialty Code, Section 3304(h).
3. Attic areas require draft barriers as per Sec. 32.05, not exceeding each 3000 sq.
ft. (9000 sq. ft. where sprinkler protection provided) Sec. 3205
4. Voids created by ceiling-floor systems require draft barriers not exceeding each
1000 sq. feet. Sec. 2511(f)
a 5 Fire stops, blocking or framing members pierced for utility runs require packing
to equal fire resistance prior to such piercing. Wood fraise construction requires
firestopping of both vertical and horizontal draft openings at maximum intervals
of 10 feet. Sec. 2517(f)
6. Handrails are required on all stairways. Stairways over 44" wide need handrails
on both sides. Sec. 3305(j)
7. Open stair railings and guardrails shall have intermediate rails or closures with
no openings large enough to pats a 9" sphere. Sec. 1716
4-1r.— Exit doors from lobbies , corridors and rooms with potential occupancies of 50 or
more are required to swing in the direction of exit travel . Sec. 3303
