SOIL TESTS AT 13010 SW BROADMOOR PLACE, TIGARD
The foundation soils at this house site were thought to
contain earth fills. A ^.heck on their firmness was requested.
The soil firmness was tested using the Wildcat Dynamic Cone
Pisnstrometar. This device consists of a pointed rod that is
driven it.to the soil by a falling weight. The pointed and of the
rod has an enlarged point that slips off and stays in the ground
after the test. Lubricant can be injected just above the point
to eliminate rod friction so that only the point resistance is
meAtsured. The device hes been calibrated to give results equal
to the ASTM D1586 Standard Penetration Test Blow Counts.
