RE: Removal of wall adjacent kitchen
Dear Cory;
This letter is to confirm that it is structurally acceptable to remove the wall shown in the attached
floor plan. The floor trusses spanning over the top of this wall will need to be shored prior to any
demolition. The wall should be replaced with a new 6x10(DF#1)wood beam and provide new
6x6 (DF#2)wood posts to support each end of the new beam. Based on the existing drawings
there should be an existing footing at one end of the new beam and the perimeter stem wall at
the other. These existing footings will be adequate to accept the new loads without any
modifications.
