WHEREAS, in 1886, John Tigard officially named his General Store
Post Office address as Tigardville and therefore Tigard is
officially entering its 100th Centennial Year as a

community;
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard is celebrating the 25th year of its
incorporation as a City, and

WHEREAS, the Tigard Civic Center complex is soon to be complete and
in need of an appropriate dedication and community
celebration.
NOW THEREFORE, let it be known that the week of May 12 through May
17, is officially named "Tigard -- 25 Years and Building"
a Week in honor of the above occasions.
THEREFORE let the citizens and friends of the
good City of Tigard
