Page 1 of 1 It's that time of year again there is a noticeable yellowish-brownish tinge to the water from the Bull Run because of the seasonal drawdown of the • Bull Run reservoirs. Water has been setting in the reservoirs all summer now and it tends to leach some color from the bottom sediments and the water that doesflow into the reservoirs runs through sediments exposed during the drawdown. • This happens about every year at this time, and this year is no exception. We anticipate this condition will coritinue for the next month or so - until refill begins; which is currently forecasted to be sometime in mid- to late-October. We will continue to adjust reservoir operations to minimize the impact of the color. The good news is that this is only an aesthetic issue inasmuch as the water continues to meet all applicable standards for safety. We will be sending you a media release later today with additional background and information. • • 9 _ o / y f le://C:AWINDOWS\TEMP\GW}00023.HTM 9/11/01 • Bun Run ,._4„......„: n .a; =s,'".yam `> s r„ v ,r x . w 'S. .+7- ., „ 5ti"al T,se,ZK9^n ,S if .,i J' i.,.irY i'' 41a .r 1 l !G ''•"c^V r. x 1 • "4 }S6w+"'r :....I.,.... :yoca. !T i r..
