On November 13, 2001, the City of Tigard had.an opportunity to honor the Korean War Veterans,in our area along with other war veterans. Enclosed is the activity report and an.announcement of the event on the front page of the City's monthly newsletter, Cityscape Also included is a video tape of the activities. Approximately 80 citizens attended this activity and expressed their appreciation for the efforts made toxemember the veterans. In addition to the activities of November 13, the Korean War Commemorative materials have been on display in the lobby of City Hall during the entire month. Arxxiy Irifaxi-try Shortly after Dorsie graduated from Sherwood High School he was drafted into the Army After completing basic trauung he was sent to Korea, landed in Pusan, and went farther North from there. He served for 17 months and was wounded by mortar fire while in combat. He was released from the hospital on July 27, 1953 - the day the war ended. �y Mft— MUM x1,"1.' .� y .. "•f y e�X.. "When we first went over there, the powers-that-be called it a 'police action' If that was a police action, it was a mighty long beat in a darn tough neighborhood.
