NOTE:For UL listed fire installations, shared on-premises communication equipment is required to be UL
Listed for Information Technology Equipment. The communication medium between protected property and
communications service provider must he for the exclusive use of the protected property and not shared with
other communications service provider subscriber.
NOTE:When a hub or router/gateway is used on the premises with the T-Link TL250,24-hr.standby power is
required for these devices(i.e.,(!L listed(IPS,battery backup).
NOTE:It is the installers responsibility to ensure proper bonding between the METALLIC ENCLOSURES of
the AL.4RM CONTROLLER and the TL250/TL300.
ATTENTION: This equipment(T-Link TL250)shall be installed and used within an environment that pro-
vides the Pollution Degree Max.2 and Overvoltages Category II non-hazardous locations, indoor only. The
equipment must he fixed and permanently connected, and is intended to he installed by service persons(i.e.,
having the appropriate technical training and experience necessary to be aware of hazards which that person
may be exposed to in performing the task, and of measures to minimize the risks to that person or other per-
sons').
CAUTION
Ethernet communication lines must he connected to an approved(acceptable to local authorities)type NID
(Network Interface Device)before leaving the premises(e.g..UL installations,1'L60950 Listed NID).
The requirements for general communication methods in Section 26.6.3.1 cover all communications methods between the protected
premises and the supervising station that differ from DACT,Two-Way Radio and One-Way Private Radio Equipment.Equipment that meets
the performance requirements of this section are permitted as suitable communications methods.
The specific requirements for general communications are also detailed in the table (see pages 10-12).This table defines that
annunciations on the degradation and restoration of a communications path must occur within five(5) minutes(if a single
communication technology is used). It also defines the fact that equipment conforming to 26,6.3.1 must only provide a redundant
path (multiple communications technologies) if the communication failure on a single path cannot be annunciated within five(5) minutes
at the supervising station.
Sections 26.6.3.2 and 26.6.3.3 define requirements for specific communication methods identified as DACTS or Two-Way Radio and
One-Way Private Radio Equipment. These requirements are not applicable to other transmission technologies like the ones used by
3G3070-CF or T-Link TL300T{L300CF because these products are not using dial up connections and also are not using private radio
networks as means for communication with supervising stations.
