RFI No:
PROJECT: Ulta Land Lord Work PROJECT No.:
TO: TSAarchitects FROM:
ATTN: DATE:
PLEASE REPLY BY:
RFI ITEM: Steel stud connections
REFERENCE: A5.03 & Exhibit B-1 shell criteria
INQUIRY:
1) Detail 5/A5.03 says to see detail 3 for track anchorage. Detail 3/A5.03 has no track
anchorage notes. Are we okay using 1" .118dia Hilti X-GN interior pins at 16oc to match
stud framing for anchoring tracks to concrete floor?
2) Detail 5/A5.03 details the Dietrich Uniclip attachment to a concrete substrate. The walls
we are framing will clip back to an existing drywall over steel stud substrate. Are we good
installing these clips with (2)#10 screws fastened through the existing drywall to the
existing studs in lieu of the(2)3/16" Hilti Kwik-Con screws? There are some locations
where the existing demising stud layout exceeds 16oc.Are the clips okay to exceed the
16oc in some locations? If not,can we attach a flat stock over the existing demising wall &
fasten the clips to this to maintain our stud layout?
3) Exhibit B-1 shell criteria notes that we can provide 3-5/8" 20ga stud furrouts along existing
demising walls if they do not meet the tenant criteria. I want to confirm that we are okay
installing 3-5/8" interior 20 gauge studs at 16oc to 14'elevation, clipped & bridged as
detailed, insulated min R-6,with finished drywall to 13'-6" elevation. This wall
configuration meets a 15'-6"wall span at a standard 5psf/L240 48oc bridged non-
composite assembly. On top of that, there will be 3 rows of the Dietrich Uniclips at each
stud splitting the span to max 6' spans. This configuration should be more than compliant.
