D printer demonstration was very popular. This year's teen summer volunteers contributed over 15 FTEs
toward library productivity and library staff noted how impressed they were with the teen leaders. A press
release from WCCLS was distributed. The release noted that 13.1 million items were checked out in the
previous year through the Cooperative. At 1.41 million items,Tigard Library was one of the top five locations
based on total items checked out in FY 2012-13 and is the top net lender in the Cooperative.
Barnes then handed out the statistic s for both July and August. Both Nook and Kindle e-readers remain
popular with the public. To promote team building and an understanding of other job duties, staff will be job
shadowing different positions within the Library from September through December. Barnes informed the
Board about a 50'birthday celebration that is being planned. A library was established in Tigard in November
1963 so on November 3 the Library will host a celebration commemorating the 50`'birthday of a library.
Johnny Limbo and the Logouts will be performing. This event kicks off a year-long celebration culminating in
