APA's national awards program is the profession's highest honor, and recognizes outstanding projects for leadership on planning issues. Tigard staff is quick to thank the community for this truly collaborative effort. "For me personally, the success of this project is measured in the relationships that were built, the high quality of the work, and the innovative nature of the results," said Tom McGuire,Assistant Community Development Director. "We are grateful for the citizens who spent countless hours helping us to come up with something that was better than what we could have done on our own." The Urban Forestry Code Revisions Project will receive the 2014 National Planning Excellence Award for a Best Practice at APA's National Planning Conference in Atlanta during a special luncheon on Tuesday,April 29, 2014.
