Notes#5 and#6 depict that the GL beam is to be supported on 6x6 posts between the first and second floors. The as-built condition differs as follows but is acceptable as described. 1. The as-built condition is supported by multiple studs below with solid blocking in the first floor joist space to the concrete foundation wall below. The support is acceptable as long as blocking is added to the side of the beam above the door opening. Attach the blocking to the beam so that the beam is • firmly supported laterally. 2. The GL beam is supported by a double stud below the beam _ with a full height trim stud at the beam end.
