Youth Advisory Council - Minutes
MEETING DATE/TIME: Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, 5:30 p.m.
MEETING LOCATION: Tigard Permit Center, Conf. Room #1
13500 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard OR 97223
1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Carter, Caleb, Rayman, Zack, Shaun,Jezeth, Mike
Staff: Marty Wine
3. OLD BUSINESS:
• Become acquainted with parliamentary procedure
• We need to look at opportunities to speak out to middle schools
• Meet-and-Eat: "Business cards" will be made for the event.
o T-shirts will be made for the Advisory Council.
Activities are needed for the event (Carter), visual material will be made.
o Food and drink will be obtained from Costco.
o Setup will be at 3 and takedown will be at 6.
o Spread the word about the event! Really make a push for the toy drive. Toys will possibly
be donated to Northwest Children's Outreach.
• By-laws: The required membership is now 15-30 members. Motions will now be passed
by a majority vote, and if the vote is locked in a tie the motion dies. 1 year of membership is
required to be an officer.
The president is now allowed to arrange impromptu meetings or reschedule meetings
with less than 50% membership.
If a member who is not an officer or sub/committee chair
resigns midterm, the position will be filled as soon as possible.
The collection of subcommittee chairs will function as the committee chairs, hereby
referred to as the Assembled Subcommittee Chairs (ASC).
Committee and subcommittee meetings shall be held bi-monthly as needed.
Amendment III is hereby abolished.
Elections for future officers will be held on the first meeting of June.
Membership appointment will be held in May.
Three (3) unexcused absences will result in removal from the Advisory Council.
Candidates running unopposed are still required to receive majority vote to be elected.

The Secretary will be the Outreach liaison and the Treasurer will be the Action liaison, while
the President/Vice-President will float around to the committees as needed.
Members may be appointed for up to 2 year terms.
Meetings must be specified at least 24 hours in advance.
4.NEW BUSINESS:
• A Twitter will possibly be made for the Advisory Council (Shaun). Third parties will be
involved in spreading word to the school. Other forms of media will be used to spread the
word.
• Next meeting is October 7th, at 5:30 at City Hall.
• On October 11, Councilor Woodard will be holding a public outreach. All advisory
Council members are strongly encouraged to attend. Other Council Town Hall dates are:
