Mark,
I was briefed by Deputy Fire Marshal Ty Darby regarding the non-operational remote operated smoke and
heat vents currently installed at the Home Depot store located at 14800 SW Sequoia Parkway. After reviewing
our files, we've concluded that the approved removal of the curtain boards on May 20, 1993, was allowed
without any additional AHJ conditions. Our records do not indicate any correlation between the removal of
the curtain boards and the installation of the remote operation capability of the smoke and heat vents.
TVF&R will endorse the removal of the remote operation capability from the existing smoke and heat vents
and believes that a traditional smoke and heat vent installation will meet the minimum requirements of the
Uniform Fire Code adopted by the State of Oregon in 1993.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. Thank you
