Code requirements for the gpm, according to their fire flow calc report of 4875 GPM
would dictates 5 hydrants. I am not asking for a hydrant farm but I believe based on
the GPM number of hydrants required and hydrant spacing requirements according to
Table C105.1 we need to have a valid reason to not meet the requirements. I am of
the opinion that we will need additional hydrants. One located where they are
proposing and at least another along Wall St perhaps on the south corner of the
property near the South entrance. By distance requirements, we actually need another
between the hydrant located on Hunziker at the NE corner of the site approx. 300 feet
along the east side towards the South entrance and one along the west side. I am
willing to work with them but like I said we would need a valid reason why they don't
need to meet code. As you know the system will be much more efficient if it is a loop
vs a dead end run. One on each corner and loop it would be the best situation for us
and meet the intent of the code.
My thoughts,
John

Dan, John,
Here is a concept plan for an additional hydrant for the Hunziker Building (formerly Coe Manufacturing). John, do you
see any problems with it?
