The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty
Code (OSSC) 2010 edition; 2010 Oregon Fire Code and NFPA 13. Please
provide the following conditions prior to issuance of the permit.
1) Please show details of all supporting construction for floor/ceiling
separating B occ from R2 occ.
2) Please provide details for all fire stopping such as can lights, exhaust
fans and ducts, and tub penetrations in the rated assemblies.
3) Provide details of rated exit enclosure.
4) Show 42" height of balcony guardrails.
5) Provide accurate door schedule showing door rating and self closing
doors.
6) Show details of termination of roof stairs.
When responding, provide an itemized letter stating in what way each numbered
issue has been addressed in the revision.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy
of the City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City
of Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.

Below, please find an itemized list of comments regarding the plan review of'The
Adrienne' project at 7148 SW Gonzaga Street. All comments have been
incorporated into a revised drawing set and indicated with a revision 1 symbol and
cloud.
1) Please show details of all supporting construction for
floor/ceiling separating B occ from R2 occ.
• We have revised our drawings to indicate that the 2nd
floor supporting structure (building assembly `FC2') to
be spray applied fireproofed to achieve a 1-hr fire
protection. See revised building assembly `FC2' on
Sheet A9.1
2) Please provide details for all fire stopping such as can lights,
exhaust fans and ducts, and tub penetrations in the rated
assemblies.
• Included in our revised set of drawings please find
details 6, 9 and 12/A8.1 for typical fire protection details
at electric box penetrations, recessed light fixtures and
pipe penetrations through rated wall and floor
assemblies. Please also find details 11 & 12/A8.3 for
typical fire protection details at bathtub conditions at
party walls.

3) Provide details of rated exit enclosure.
• New details have been added describing the continuity
of the fire rating at units and the exit enclosure. Please
see new details 4, 8/A5.1 as well as 4, 8, 12/A5.3.
4) Show 42"height of balcony guardrails.
• Please see revised detail 1/A6.3 which indicates the
typical balcony guardrail height of 42"
5) Provide accurate door schedule showing door rating and
self- closing doors.
• Door schedule has been updated to indicate required
closers, fire/smoke gaskets at all 1-hr doors. All unit
entry doors on 2nd and 3rd floor are indicated and now
show a 1-hr fire rating. Unit interior doors are

• Please see our revised roof plan which indicates that all
mechanical units and equipment be greater than 10'-0"
away from the edge of roof and therefore not be
required to have guardrail protection per OMSC 2010
304.11. See revised roof plan on sheet A2.4
