Per our phone conversation with you, it is our understanding that the second level type"9°
holdowns at the front of the building were not installed as specified in detail 11 on sheet S7.0.
Instead of wrapping the holdown straps around the beam as originally detailed, the bottom of
the Simpson MST60 straps were aligned with the bottom face of the beam, and then secured to
the front face of the beam and the holdown posts above.
We have reviewed this existing condition, and determined that the reduced strap capacity is
adequate to resist the code required uplift. We therefore take no exceptions to this existing
condition.
