Public Hearing a° Mr. Harold Lapp, 7121 SOW. Spruce St. , asked if public access through the Fred Meyer complex was , going to be continued. Mrs. Wied answered that • there has been no discussion with the City regard- , ing its discontinuance and that the driveway realignment with 72nd Avenue should provide a safer access. Mr. Lapp was also concerned about his house facing a concrete block wall . The landscaping plans along Spruce St0 were shown to him. b. The public hearing was closed. 30 Commission discussion and action as Mr. Lewis asked if the sales area would be covered. Mr. Goslin asked wh ' t kinds of materials would be stored there. Mrs. Wied answered that the area would be uncovered and that garden supplies and other "home improvement" materials were tn be sold in the area. • • b. Conditional Use Application ATLAS STEEL BUILDING COMPANY, applicant ` A request for a conditional use for outside storage and the temporary use of a trailer for an office. The property is located at 9380 S.W. Tigard Avenue (Map #281 2AB tax lot 1900) 1. Staff recommendation for conditional temporary approval. 2. Public Hearing a. Mr. Vern Risberg, 5123 S.W. 'eaverton Hillsdale Highway, owner of the adjacer tax lot 1801, spoke in opposition to this use and to the M-4 zoning in • the area. He said he felt the original A-2 zoning was better and the M= 4 zoning had devalued his property. • b. The public hearing was closed. 3. Commission discusbion and action a. Mr. Lewis asked what kind of business was proposed . here. Mr. Allred, applicant, said it is a metal products assembly business - steel buildings. Mr. Lewis said he felt this was the wrong location for this kind of business. b. Mr. Woodard and M-. Harris expressed their concern for the view of the property from 99W, and said dI that outside storage should not be permitted where it cannot be adequately screened. c. It was moved (Lewis) , seconded (Goslin) , and passed by majority vote of the Commission present (Mrs Fletcher abstaining) that application be denied. C.
