OTHER BUSINESS
IA Mr., Markus of Woolach Tire & Auto Service requested Council
consideration with respect to conditional use granted for
installation of Good Year Store Sign. The changes requested
A are:
1. Add new sign to previously approved freestanding
sign with "Woolach Tire and Auto Service Center"
on it as shown on the plans presented.
2. The new sign will be internally illuminated as
ma, shown on the plans presented; no exposed neon
signs will be allowed.
3. The new sign will be permitted because signing on
the building (previously approved) will be reduced
as shown on the plans presented, a copy of which
will be sent to the City.
Emily Wied, City Planner, requested copy of plans be submitted
for City Records.

B. Mayor Kyle stated he had received a request from Mr, Hoselton
to use city street sweeper on U. S. Bank parking lot, Matter
was dismissed by staff and Council. Council requested City
Adminisrator to explain problems and probable cost to Mr.
Hoselton.
C. Administrator recommended Council agree to participate in Metro-
, Radio Network sponsored by CRAG. Cities an Comities will
participate. Tigand's share would be approximately $2,050. and
could be included in 1970-71 budget. Council requested Adminis-
trator indicate City intends to participate in program.

I SUBJECT: Goodyear Service Center Sign
Mr. T. Robert Tobias, of Woolach Tire and Auto Centers (Good-
year Dealer), has requested an addition to the sign you
approved a few months ago for the Tigard Goodyear Store con-
. ditional use. He first asked for exposed neon tubing spelling '
` out the name WOOLACH-----I asked him if he couldn't use a plastic,
.; internally illuminated sign such as that of the Goodyear, sign
directly above it for aesthetic reasons. He submitted a plan
for this and indicated that some signing would be reduced on
the building, in swap for this new addition. We have seen
:•1,° no plans for any reduction, as yet.
Mr. Tobias has asked to explain his proposal to you at your
Monday meeting under "other, business".

- WHEREAS, the owners of the lands described on attached
Exhibit °A" by reference made a part hereof, have filed with the
City an application for authorization to conduct the following
described conditional uses on the said premises; and
WHEREAS, the zoning classification of said lands here-

tofore established by the zoning ordinances of the City of
Tigard is C-3 (General Commercial) and the conditional uses re-

quested by the applicants may be properly permitted in conformity
with the said classification; and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission on the 16th day of
July, 1969, held a public hearing with respect to said applica-

tion and said Commission has recommended to the City Council that

• , WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council with ,

one non-moving free-standing sign on 99W only,
located as Shown on the site development plan
submitted with the exception that it should not
project into the right-of-way,
3, That no banners, pennants, festoons of lights or
other similar suspended devices used for advertising
purposes in connection with any sign or commercial
enterprise be permitted.

Starting Sunday, April 26th, we will hold the
grand opening of our Tigard Store. This promotion
will last for a period of two weeks.
We would like to put temporary Metal Signs and
Displays along the Pacific Highway Side of our Lot.
We would also like to hang a Grand Opening tanner
under the Goodyear Sign on the southwest corner of
our lot. In addition to this, we would like to it
additional tire displays at various locations around
our lot.
We will, upon completion of our promotion revert
back to our standard outdoor displays.
