We have no record of receiving either of these. • Two remaining Conditions of Approval need to be satisfied: o #21 is the Tree Deed Restriction we discussed yesterday in emails. o #26 is the Final Sight Distance Certification which we have no record of receiving. Please supply same. o These two Not -Met Conditions are the primary hold -ups and must be completed before we can schedule a Building Final re- inspection. As you may know, Metro submitted plans and a permit app and paid fees this morning for BUP2009 00004, Fire Alarm System. This could have been taken care of earlier but, for our colleagues at TVF &R, we are expediting Plan Review. Dan Nelson expects to complete review this afternoon and, if the plans are approved, the permit should be issued by the end of the day. We have already inspected this system and will "pass" the Final as soon as the permit is issued. Please forward the missing Final Letters to me as soon as possible and please let me know if your records disagree with ours as to the status of the above items. PRESENT AT SITE: Lance Cerny, Lewis & Van Vleet Inc. , Matt Hubel, First Cascade THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED: I visited the jobsite to perform an inspection of the construction completed thus far. At the time of the ' inspection, wall framing the main roof framing was largely completed. Some of the apparatus bay end walls and some roof overframing was not yet completed. At all shear walls, the IBC /OSSC requires a minimum .2 29 "x3 "x plate washer at all sill plate anchor bolts. These plate washers will need to be added at all shear w s. t the east /west shear wall line midway across building, on the east side, there is a to steel column at ties the low roof to the high roof per detail 9/S2.3. It would be acceptable to us 4x6 strut at this location in lieu of a high roof truss. There were two loc . At the northwest most of the HSS5x5x3 /16 posts adjacent to the apparatus bay overhead doors, one of the anchor bolts per 9/S1.2 was located immediately adjacent to an isulated plumbing penetration which will not allow the anchor bolt to develop any significant load carrying carrying capacity. Is this just a situation where you haven't gotten his go -ahead yet, or do we still have an issue you know of? 2) As I mentioned when I was out there a couple of weeks ago - we'd like to do the lay -in ceiling design as a deferred submittal. Is there a specific process I need to follow now to do this? 3) Do you know what we are missing for this item? As I last understood it the site issue of the containment for the washdown area and the fueling station were taken care of with the latest Civil plans submitted, and those also included a cut sheet for the oil water separator. The interior trench drains in the Apparatus Bays have been routed to the separator as shown on Sheet RP -03 in the addendum drawings we submitted. Again is the due to a delay in getting the sign -off from Mike or something else that I need to do? 4) If the above are all taken care of I can get the revised plans to you. DATE: August 7, 2008 JOB NO. 07132 BUILDING DIVISION garyj. lewis. p.e. PROJECT: TVF &R Station 50 LOCATION: Tigard, Oregon CONTRACTOR: First Cascade Construction OWNER: TVF &R WEATHER: TEMP/TIME: deg. F at . PRESENT AT SITE: Lance Cerny, Lewis & Van Vleet Inc. Matt Hubei, First Cascade THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED: I visited the jobsite to perform an inspection of the construction completed thus far. At The time of the inspection, wall framing the main roof framing was largely completed. Some of the apparatus bay end walls and some roof overframing was not yet completed. At all shear walls, the IBC /OSSC requires a minimum .229 "x3 "x3" plate washer at all sill plate anchor bolts. These plate washers will need to be added at all shear walls. At the east /west shear wall line midway across building, on the east side, there is a tube steel column that ties the low roof to the high roof per detail 9/S2.3. It would be acceptable to use a 4x6 strut at this location in lieu of a high roof truss. There were two locations pointed out to me by Matt where shear wall holdowns need to be installed, the southmost holdown on the type C shear wall along grid D, and one at the east end of the type A shear wall on the north end of the hallway between the bathrooms. The contractor spliced an extension to the post base plate to an adjacent wood wall anchor bolt. This is acceptable, however the splice weld was not inspected and the weld appeared to be of a questionable size and type. Therefore the splice should be reinforced per the accompanying sketch A. All field welding requires special inspection. • All other observed and completed work appeared to comply with the plans and specifications. Signed, Lance Cerny, P.E. DATE: 8/07/08 RE: TVF &R Station 50 — Shear Wall Bottom Plate Per a conversation with Matt at First Cascade, the typical holdown anchor bolts were either too short or embedded too deeply to allow for the holdown installation. Therefore, the typical shear wall bottom plate was notched at holdown locations. This is structurally acceptable.
