(1991 UBC with Oregon Amendments)
The plans for this project were reviewed for conformity with
applicable codes. Please submit the following items for completion
of the plan review process at your earliest convenience:
1. Submit the Oregon energy compliance forms for review.
Please specify on the plans the R- values used.
2. Specify the roofing class on the plans.
3. Submit the manufacture's details and installation
instructions for the rigid roof insulation.
4. Are these buildings required to have perimeter
insulation? If so, please detail.
5. At your convenience, please complete the attached special
inspection form and return to the Building Division.
6. Specify and detail the attachment of the brick veneer to
the structure per the requirements of Chapter 30.
7. The interior core and corridor is to be reviewed and
permitted at a later date under a separate review process
and building permit.
The following structural concerns are noted (items 1 -10 must be
satisfied prior to the issuance of foundation permits):
1. Please provide an index to the structural calculations.
2. Reference all details.
3. Provide a typical pad /column detail.
4. Calcs on footing pads are not complete (not all pads
done- no size or steel calcs, just call outs).

5. Provide calcs for strip footings.
6. Calcs on pads for frames- correlate to computer calcs.
7. Calcs on frame gridlines 3 and 8 show 4 columns (should
be 3). Wrong member sizes input, however, output plot
matches plan?
8. Sheet W1 of the calcs- where is this in the building?
9. No lateral analysis other than frame output: provide
complete lateral analysis. Did you address all
special /specific requirements of UBC Chapter 23/27 for
seismic zone 3, SMRF's and diaphragms?
10. Provide calcs for grade beams.
11. Provide calcs for curtain wall out -of -plane and
attachments.
12. Detail 6/S4.2 on sheet S2.2 appears to be out of place?
13. Provide a cross - sectional detail for the W14 x 22 on
sheet S2.3 at the penthouse between gridlines 5 and 6.
14. Is 1 /S4.1 a typical connection detail for such locations
as gridline F9?
15. Does detail 10 /S3.1 have grout holes similar to detail
9/S3.1?
16. PL i /2x beam width W/ 4 -3/4" diameter A325 bolts as
shown in detail 16/S4.1 is not consistent with detail
5/A6.4.
17. Details 18 and 19/S4.1 do not work at the roof.
18. Are details 5, 6, and 9/S4.1 used?
19. Details 3 and 8/S4.1- box column welds are not called
consistently.
20. What is the hook length for the #8 rebar in detail
7/S4.2?
21. Reference all foundation details- 8- 14/S4.2.
22. Detail 15/S4.2- are the 3 -5/8" x 16 GA studs at 16" o/c
cantilevers? If so, are the welds to the bottom flange
a moment connection?
23. 15/S4.2 on sheet A4.1 does not apply at the roof.
24. 5/A6.1 on sheet A4.1 is not correct.
25. Provide cross - sections at solid walls. See sheet A4.1?
26. Provide a ridge /rafter connection detail at 12/A6.4.
27. Provide a connection detail of the horizontal W16 x 36 to
the W16 x 36 rafter /beam at 12/A6.4.
28. Is the 6 inch metal stud called out in 5 and 10/A6.4 to
be TS?
29. The TS plate and bolts called out in 5/A6.4 are not
consistent with 16/S4.1.
30. How are the framing members attached to the I beam in Al?
of 5/A6.4?
Please contact David Scott, P.E. to discuss the structural concerns
listed above.
Please make these •corrections on the appropriate pages of the
drawings and resubmit three copies of each page to the City of
Tigard for review.
This plan review does not include electrical or plumbing plan
: reviews. Electrical concerns can be directed to Washington County
at 640 -3470 and plumbing concerns to Mike Sheehan at the City of
Tigard at 639 -4171 extension 312.
