The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC)
2004 edition; and 2004 International Fire Code as amended by TVF &R. The submitted plans
are approved subject to the following conditions.
NOTE: This area is a incidental use area and is used by the mall management and tenants.
The occupant load is based off area use as follows; housekeeping (warehouse storage use)
9,000 sq ft / 500 = 18 occ., storage & accessory storage/equipment area 4,073 sq ft / 300 = 14
occ., office 1,470 sq ft / 100 = 2 occ., break room 159 sq ft /15 = 11 occ. & locker room 218
sq ft / 50 = 5 occ. Total incidental use occupant load of area is 50. The sq ft of area is
14.920 +/-. OSSC Table 1004.1.2
1. Where Table 302.1.1 permits an automatic fire- extinguishing system without a fire barrier,
the incidental use area shall be separated by construction capable of resisting the passage
of smoke. The partitions shall extend from the floor to the underside of the fire- resistance-
. rated floor /ceiling assembly or fire- resistance -rated roof/ceiling assembly or to the
underside of the floor or roof deck above. Doors shall be self - closing or automatic - closing
upon detection of smoke. Doors shall not have air transfer openings and shall not be
undercut in excess of the clearance permitted in accordance with NFPA 80.
2. The live loads for which each floor has been designed to exceed 50 psf shall be
conspicuously posted by the owner in that part of each story in which they apply, using
durable metal signs, and it shall be unlawful to remove or deface such notices. The
occupant of the building shall be responsible for keeping the actual load below the
allowable limits. 1603.3 OSSC
3. All exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special
knowledge or effort. 1008.1.8 OSSC

4. The means of egress shall be provided with illumination of not less than 1 foot candle at
the floor level anytime the building is occupied. The means of egress illumination shall be
provided with a second source of power in case of primary power loss. 1006. OSSC
5. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the
premise's electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, an emergency electrical
system shall automatically illuminate the following areas:
1. Exit access corridors, passageways and aisles in rooms and spaces which require two
or more means of egress.
2. Exit access corridors and exit stairways located in buildings required to have two or
more exits.
3. Exterior egress components at other than the level of exit discharge until exit
discharge is accomplished for buildings required to have two or more exits.
4. Interior exit discharge elements, as permitted in Section 1023.1, in buildings required
to have two or more exits.
5. The portion of the exterior exit discharge immediately adjacent to exit discharge
doorways in buildings required to have two or more exits.
6. The emergency power system shall provide power for a duration of not less than 90
minutes and shall consist of storage batteries, unit equipment or an on -site generator.
The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Electrical Code.
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.3.1 OSSC
Certificate of Occupancy: No building or structure shall be used or occupied until the
Building Official has issued a certificate of occupancy 110.1 OSSC
Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new
buildings in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road
• fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.
