The following is the information you requested on the Tigard
United Methodist Church parking lot design:
1. Calculation of number of spaces required:
a. ) by bench length 1,008 1. f. bench
@ 1 sp. per 12 feet : 84 spaces
b. ) by seats 540 fixed seats
@ 1 sp. per 6 seats : 90 spaces
2. Size of stalls :
The spaces shown can be easily revised to
the 9 -6" x 19 ' size required by code. This
revision will result in aisles 2,3' wide, and
• a reduction in the total number of spaces
from 123 to 119 , which is still well above
the number required by the code. The
configuration
of the lot itself will not
change.
4 Drive out to rrewing Street
The property which the proposed driveway out
to Vreewingstreet i8 on is owned by the
Church. This drive is being built primarily
to improve emergency vehicle access and
secondarily to provide another access point
for church members living south of the church.
The drive at present is only mat8inally adequate.

this month and the church no longer holds an

DESIGNATION: A-2. Conditional Use allowed under R-7/R-15 Zone for Church.
PARKING
`' REQUIREMENTS: Church: One (1) space per six (6) fixed seats or twelve (12)
feet of bench length and/or every one hundred (100) square feet
from floor area.
SITE PLAN AND DESIGN REVIEW:
The applicant is proposing to construct a parking lot for the Church
Code requirements necessitate a total of one hundred fifty three (153) spaces
based on the square foot foI mula, However, based upon the fixed seats or bench
formula, approximately eighty six (86) spaces,parking spaces are required. Spaces

provided equal one hundred nineteen (119) .
Landscaping needs to be addressed on the north property line. It is
understood that Mr. Willard Nelson will attend, to this detail.
STAFL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends approval of the Site Plan and Design Review subject to
the following conditions;
1, A revised parking lot plan be submitted showing actual measurements of
bays and length between bays at twenty four (24) feet. ,,.
2. Actual computations be supplied for number of spaces required,' Their
