FOUNDATION EXCAVATION REVIEW
LOT 14 – ASH CREEK ESTATES

On January 26 27 and February 1E and 2n 2012, GeoPacific Engineer, Jim Imbrie, visited the
above - mentioned site to review foundation excavation, house layout, and subgrade bearing
conditions. We understand that the proposed residence is a two -story single - family home with framed
garage floor and a crawlspace. The excavations mostly exposed medium stiff to stiff, native, clayey silt
and compacted fill. At the a few selected locations, some granular fill was placed up to 2 feet deep.
Density tests indicated that it exceeded compaction standards of 95 percent relative compaction.
The observed subgrade is adequate for spread foundation support to a maximum allowable bearing
pressure of 1,500 psf. Footings should remain outside of a 1 H:1 V plane from vertical cuts. GeoPacific
should review the final backfilled configuration and perform density tests as necessary on the backfill.
No deck footing, patio, or other appurtenant structure subgrades were observed
