Dear Sirs:
The City of Tigard received a complaint regarding the maintenance and upkeep of landscaping at the
Burnham Street storage facilities at 8900 SW Burnham Street, Tigard, Oregon.
There appears to be specific concern regarding landscaping and screening adjacent to the Fanno
Creek Trail pathway. Please note that property owners are responsible for the obligation to maintain
all landscaping and screening in good condition so as to present a healthy neat and orderly
appearance which shall be replaced or repaired as necessary according the city code.
The Burnham Storage facility was approved, subject to conditions of approval on March 21, 1974 by
the City of Tigard Site Development Plan and Design Review Board (SDR 4-74 Randall
Construction Company).
I have attached a copy of the Board's minutes that outline the conditions of approval related to
landscaping requirements. Please note discussion items 2,3, 5 and 7 that are included as conditions
of approval item 10.
We hope that as a long-standing good corporate resident business in the City of Tigard you will see
fit to make the proper improvements voluntarily. That is the reason for this letter. We prefer not to
have to proceed by issuing a citation for violation of the Tigard Development Code. With that in
mind,we offer the services of Assistant Planner Hap Watkins, and City Arborist/Planner Todd
Prager to assist you in coming into compliance. It is suggested that a landscape plan be prepared
with a schedule for implementation in conjunction with the consultation with Mr.Watkins and Mr.
Prager.
Please respond within two weeks from the date of this letter to Mr.Watkins at 503-718-2440.
Sincerely,
