Mr., Gary Nearson of the Transit Bench Sign Company was present and spoke in favor of the proposed ordinance which would amend the Tigard Sign Code to allow the placement of bench signs at transit stops. That a '42 inch height be allowed d rather than a 39 inch hex g ht to con form to his company's standard size. • 2. That a provision be added requiring the bench sign companies to have liability insurance. 3. That there be a provision restricting the subject matter of the sins. 4. That in addition to placing benches in commercial zones, tdat they also be allowed in apartment zones due to the need in this type of location. B. Chairman Whittaker thanked Mr Nearson for his couurients and asked the staff a to consider including these considerations in a revised sign ordinance to be presented for Planning Commission review on February 26, 1974. ^ 8.2 Discussion of Street and Road Policy. Establish an annual program for reconstruction of streets financed jointly by the City' and abutting property owners. 3.
