The need for the amendments are due to the recent release of the Tigard Triangle Traffic Circulation Study. ThE study addressed many items including traffic volumes (both present and future) , circulation patterns and street width requirements given future traffic volumes. Reclassific- ation �- of S.W. 72nd Avenue to an Arterial may be necessary if certain elements of the study are adopted. An arterial street improvement . • could widen the road to 5 lanes and significantly impact the vertical alignment of Beveland and Conzaga streets near S.W. 72nd Ave Although ' the study is not, complette and Comp. Plan Amendments have not been • proposed, we feel its important to not preclude the potential reclass- ification and improvement of S.W. 72nd Ave. to Arterial standards.
