Outlet connection is slip and drive. Agency Listing - The unit is UL and Canadian UL listed as a room air terminal unit. UL Control # 9N65. All Trane terminal units are ARI 880. - 98 certified. General Unit Clearance Allow adequate clearance to meet NEC on control box side of unit to meet NEC. A minimum of one and one half duct diameters of straight duct work, upstream of the air inlet connection, should be present for optimum airflow measurement performance. Upstream duct work should be the same diameter as the primary inlet connection. 1/2" Matte - Faced Insulation The interior surface of the unit casing is acoustically and thermally lined with 1/2" 1.50 lb.cu. ft. [24.00 kg. /cu. m.] composite density glass fiber with 4.0 lb. cu.ft. [64 kg. /cu. m.] high density facing. The insulation is UL listed and meets NFPA -90A and UL 181 standards. The insulation R -value is 1.9. All cut edges of insulation are completely encapsulated in metal to prevent erosion. Air Valve Round The air inlet connection is an 18 gauge galvanized steel cylinder sized to fit standard round duct. A multiple point, averaging flow sensing ring is provided with balancing taps for measuring within +/- 5% of unit cataloged airflow. An airflow versus pressure differential calibration chart is provided. The damper blade is constructed of a closed cell foam seal mechanically locked between two 22 gauge galvanized steel disks. The damper blade assembly is connected to a cast zinc shaft supported by self lubricating bearings. The shaft is cast with a damper position indicator. The valve assembly includes a mechanical stop to prevent over stroking. At 4.0" w.g. air valve leakage does not exceed 1% of cataloged airflow. Air Valve Size - 08 Air Valve is 900.0 cfm 8" inlet. Slip 8 Drive Connection A slip and drive connection has two straight flanges on the top and bottom, and two drive connections on the left and right sides. This is a standard option on all VAV single duct terminal units. • Normally Open Pneumatic Actuator Normally open pneumatic actuator with 3.00 psi to 8.00 psi spring range. Pneumatic Volume Regulator - 3011 PVR The regulator is a thermostat reset velocity controller which provides consistent air delivery within 5% of cataloged flow down to 18% of unit cataloged CFM, independent of changes in system static pressure. Factory calibrated, field adjustable set points for minimum and maximum flows. Average total unit bleed rate, excluding thermostat, is 28.8 scim at 20.00 psi 7.87m1 /min @ supply. Pneumatic Controls Option PNO5 Normally Open Valve Actuator, 3011 Pneumatic Volume Regulator, (for use with Reverse Acting Thermostat) With an increase in room temperature, the thermostat pressure is decreased. This signal is input to the volume • regulator, which also receives the inputs of primary inlet total and static pressure from the flow ring. The volume regulator outputs a signal compensated for changing duct pressures to the valve actuator to open the damper and increase primary cooling flow to the space. With a decrease in room temperature, the opposite action occurs. Minimum and maximum primary airflow settings are maintained by the volume regulator. When the system is designed with reheat, heating stages are energized at the appropriate pressure settings. • FLD = Furnished by Trane U.S. Inc. / Installed by Equipment Submittal Page 4 of 13 Others' • Lincoln Tower VAV Boxes January 18, 2010 •• Unit Dimensions - Variable Air Volume Single Duct Terminal Units Item: Al Qty: 1 Tag(s): VAV F— 5 12 21/4' < X 8' 7. For 480 volt 3 phase and 575 volt 3 phase heaters a 4 wire (includes neutral) power supply is required. P.E. Switch with Magnetic Contactor This switch and magnetic contact is for the use with an electric heater with Pneumatic VAV Controls. Power Disconnect Switch (for VSEF & VPEF) A factory provided interlocking door disconnect switch located on the electric heater control panel. • Airflow Switch An air pressure device designed to disable the heater when the unit fan is off. Power Fuse A safety fuse located in the electric heater's line of power to prevent power surge damage to the electric heater. Pneumatic Actuator A normally open or normally closed pneumatic actuator operates over a 3.00 psi to 8.00 psi spring range. Slip & Drive Connection A slip and drive connection has two straight flanges on the top and bottom, and two drive connections on the left and right sides. The drive sides are straight flanges which form a "U" shape. The mating ductwork has a similar setup. The two top and bottom pieces are shaped like a compressed "S" with sealant in the hollow of the "S ". These pieces will slide over the top and bottom straight flanges. The top and bottom flanges of the mating ductwork will slide into the otherside of these pieces. The two side pieces are shaped like a "C" and are called "Drives ". These pieces will slide over the "U" shaped flanges so the connection can not be pulled apart. These pieces are usually hammered into place. No screws are required, and by removing the drives, the ducts may be disconnected. Pneumatic Volume Regulator- 3011 Series The regulator is a thermostat reset velocity controller which provides consistent air delivery within 5% of normal flow down to 18% of unit cataloged CFM, independent of changes in system static pressure. Factory calibrated, field adjustable set points for minimum and maximum flows. Average total unit bleed rate, excluding thermostat, is 28.8 scim at 20 psig (7.87 I /min @ 138 kpa) supply.
