The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC)
2004 edition; and 2003 International Fire Code as amended by TVF &R. The submitted plans
are approved subject to the following conditions.
1. Provide insignia of compliance information to building inspector on foam core panels
used for cooler /freezer and storage areas, showing panels meet the State of Oregon
regulation under Oregon Revised Statue 455.705 and Oregon Administrative Rule 918 -
674. For more information please contact State of Oregon Building Codes Division at
503.378.4133 and ask for prefabricated structures program.
2. Foam plastic installed in a maximum thickness of 10 inches (254 mm) in cooler and
freezer walls shall:
1. Have a flame spread index of 25 or less and a smoke - developed index of not
more than 450, where tested in a minimum 4 inch (102 mm) thickness.
2. Have flash ignition and self - ignition temperatures of not less than 600 °F and
800 °F (316 °C and 427 °C), respectively.
3. Have a covering of not less than 0.032 -inch (0. 8 mm) aluminum or corrosion
resistant steel having a base metal thickness not less than 0.0160 inch (0. 4 mm)
at any point.
4. Be protected by an automatic sprinkler system. Where the cooler or freezer is
within a building, both the cooler or freezer and that part of the building in which
it is located shall be sprinldered. 2603.4.1.2 OSSC
3. food services lines shall be at least 36 inches wide and the tray slide shall be mounted not
more than 34 inches in height. 1109.21.2.3 OSSC
4. All exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special
knowledge or effort. 1008.1.8 OSSC

5. Safety glazing including but not limited to: the following locations: Each unit of
glazing shall be permanently identified by the manufacturer. 2406 OSSC. Some of
these locations are as follows:
a. Glazing in ingress and means of egress doors.
b. Glazing in an individual fixed or operable panel adjacent to a door where the
nearest vertical edge is within a 24" arc of the door in a closed position and
whose bottom edge is less than 60" above the floor or walking surface except
when there is an intervening wall or other permanent barrier between the door and
the glazing.
c. Glazing that meets all the following conditions: In lieu of safety glazing,
protective bar (1 'A" height minimum) may be installed on the accessible side(s)
of the glazing 36" ± 2" above the floor. The bar shall be capable of withstanding
a horizontal load of 50 plf without contacting the glass. Sec. 308.4
6. American with Disabilities Act (ADA): It shall be the responsibility of the Architect,
Engineer, Designer, Contractor, Owner and Lessee to research the applicability of the
ADA requirements for the structure. The City of Tigard reviews the plans and inspects
the structure only for compliance with Chapter 11 of the OSSC, which may not include
all of the requirements of the ADA.
7. NOT PART OF THIS REVIEW:
• Fire Sprinklers
• Mechanical System
• Plumbing
• Electrical
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.3.1 OSSC
Certificate of Occupancy: No building or structure shall be used or occupied until the
Building Official has issued a certificate of occupancy 110.1 OSSC
Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new
buildings in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road
fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.

The enclosed Preliminary Plans for the above named space are approved as noted on the plans.
Three copies of the Final Construction Plans must be submitted to Landlord within (20) days of receipt of
this Preliminary Plan approval. Be aware that the city will not accept plans for plan check review i Unless they
have an approval stamp from the landlord. Also, a copy of the building permit and a certificate of insurance
are required to be on file before any work commences. The Macerich Partnership LP, The - Macerich
Company, Macerich Property Management Company LLC and all owned, managed, controlled or
subsidiary companies, corporations, entities, joint ventures, LLC's or partnerships must be named as
additional insured. The Tenant's contractor shall be checked -in and briefed on all the requirements and the
rules and regulations of the Macerich Company. Please include ALL of the attached notes on your Final
plans. Provide revisions bubbles on all revised sheets and a copy of this letter with all plan revision
locations noted.
