Re: Sony Style — Suspended Ceiling Support
Dear Mr. Schaffran:
At your request, VLMK Consulting Engineers has reviewed the proposed the support of
the suspended ceiling at the Sony Style Store in Washington Square. The issues that
were reviewed are as follows:
• The mixture of conventional light gage stud framing with the USG system at the
fascia locations.
• The splices of the support wires.
VLMK finds that with the fascia being supported at the top &bottom tracks and the
vertical studs that the fascia is supported adequately. See attached calculation sheet
N1„
In addition, even though the splices are not of usual convention, VLMK believes that the
splices that were performed are adequate to support the worst case loading of 80
pounds.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely p • ' `OFF „-
