Congratulations. We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this issue so promptly.
As you know, the two citations issued on November 21, 2005 set a court date of Wednesday,
December 14, for a First Hearing and each citation carried a penalty of up to $250.00 for a total
potential penalty of $500.00.
The City of Tigard's primary objective in enforcement matters is to secure compliance and
compliance has now been achieved, thanks to your cooperation. We do not generally seek to use
penalties in a punitive manner but rather to achieve two objectives: First, get the respondent's full
attention and educate them to their responsibilities, and second, to recover public funds that have
been expended in staff time and other costs in the enforcement process.
We are satisfied that the first objective has been met and in recognition of your prompt
cooperation we extend to you the following offer: if Kassab Jewelers will pay to the City of
Tigard $250.00 (the amount of a single day's potential penalty) as a voluntary reimbursement of
the City's enforcement expenses the City will accept that payment, seek no other penalties, and
request the Municipal Court to dismiss the three citations. In this event no court appearance will
be required and there will be no court record other than the citation and dismissal.
If you would like to accept this offer, please let me know as soon as possible and then have a
check delivered to my attention, made out to the City of Tigard for the $250.00.

occupancy of the structure located at the site address listed above (hereinafter "structure "), does not grant or convey to the owner or
tenant any property right or other protectible property interest in the use and /or occupancy of the structure for any purpose. It is further
