The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) 2004 edition;
and 2004 International Fire Code as amended by TVF&R. The submitted plans are approved subject to
the following conditions.
1. Racks to be installed per engineered design.
2. Provide signage on racks that state "NO STORAGE ABOVE 12 FEET ALLOWED"
3. Provide 2 -A rated fire extinguishers as required per table 906.3 (1) of OFC the extinguisher shall be
located so that no usable space has a distance greater than 75 feet to the extinguishers. OFC 906.3
4. The clearance between the deflector and the top of storage shall be 18 in. or greater.

5. The racks shall display in one or more conspicuous locations a permanent plaque not less than 50
square inches in area, showing the maximum permissible unit load in clear legible print. OSSC 1603
6. All exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or
effort. OSSC 1008.1.8
7. Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of
egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the
path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Sec. 1011.1 FYI Additional exit signs
may be required by the city field inspector to clearly indicate the path of egress.
8. The means of egress shall be provided with illumination of not less than 1 foot candle at the floor level
anytime the building is occupied. The means of egress illumination shall be provided with a second
source of power in case of primary power loss. 1006. OSSC

9. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premise's electrical
supply. In the event of powcr supply failure, an emergency electrical system shall automatically
illuminate the following areas:
1. Exit access corridors, passageways and aisles in rooms and spaces which require two
or more means of egress.
• 2. Exit access corridors and exit stairways located in buildings required to have two or
more exits.
3. Exterior egress components at other than the level of exit discharge until exit
discharge is accomplished for buildings required to have two or more exits.
4. Interior exit discharge elements, as permitted in Section 1023.1, in buildings required
to have two or more exits.
5. The portion of the exterior exit discharge immediately adjacent to exit discharge
doorways in buildings required to have two or more exits.
6. The emergency power system shall provide power for a duration of not less than 90
•
minutes and shall consist of storage batteries, unit equipment or an on -site generator.
The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Electrical Code.

Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained
on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of

Certificate of Occupancy: No building or structure shall be used or occupied until the Building Official
has issued a certificate of occupancy 110.1 OSSC
Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings in such
a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed City of
Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of Tigard in tracking and
processing the documents.

Hi Val,
I am working on providing you with the additional information that you had requested on our racking system. I
should have it to you tomorrow. Below is what I am working on:
1) We will leave the top shelf out. We will still need to put the top bracing in, but we will not install the
particle board shelf. This would greatly reduce the possibility of stacking above 12 feet. If you need
additional signage that notes "no commodity can be stacked over 12 feet high ", let me know.
2) We will show a new emergency lighting plan that takes into account the new second exit and revision to
location of the door at the cosmetics cage.
3) We will show dimensions on the racking drawings, showing proper clearances for egress.
4) We will show new exit signs.
