Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms of their approval, in accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufacturer's installation instructions and this code. Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. OMSC 304.1 2. Gas piping systems under 14 inches water column pressure, shall be tested at a pressure of not less than 10 pounds per square inch gage. Test pressures shall be held for not less than 15 minutes with no perceptible drop in pressure. For welded piping, and for piping carrying gas at pressures exceeding 14 inches water column pressure, the test pressure shall be at least 60 pounds per square inch for not less than 30 minutes. OMSC C406.4.1 3. The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems. Where floors, walls, ceilings or any other portion of the building or structure are required to be altered or replaced in the process of installing or repairing any system, the building or structure shall be left in a safe structural condition in accordance with the Building Code. The cutting, notching and boring of framing members shall comply with OMSC 302 Sections 302.3.1 through 302.5.3. 4. Each appliance shall be provided with a shutoff valve separate from the appliance. The shutoff valve shall be located in the same room and within six feet of the appliance served. Access shall be provided to the shutoff valve. Equipment and appliances regulated by this code requiring electrical connections shall have a positive means of disconnect in accordance with the Electrical Code. OMSC 301.7 6. Appliances serving different areas of a building other than where they are installed shall be permanently marked in an approved manner that uniquely identifies the appliance and the area it serves. OMSC 304.10 7. Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without removal of permanent construction. OMSC 306.1 Mercury Thermostats. The State of Oregon prohibits the installation of thermostats that contain mercury in commercial and residential buildings. "In accordance with ORS 455.355, the disposal of thermostats that contain mercury shall be in accordance with programs established by thermostat manufacturers, their representative or distributor, or by delivery to sites that will ensure that the mercury does not become part of the solid waste stream or wastewater." Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of construction.
