AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2. 12. 010 OF THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE
REDUCING THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ON THE PARK A14D RECREATION BOARD.

THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1
At the request of the Park and Recreation Board the City Council
has consieered the proposition that eleven is an unnecessarily large
number to constitute membership of the Park and Recreation Board, and that
for reasons of efficiency and economy the membership on the board should
be reduced to nine. The City Council has found that it favors that
suggestion.
Section 2
Section 2.12. 010 of the Tigard Municipal Code Appointment
Membership is amended to read as follows (additions underlined, deletions ,
lined out) :
2.12. 010 Appointment -- Membership
There is created a Park and Recreation Board
consisting of twelve ten persons. F,1-eve-n Nine persons
shall be appointed byte Mayor and confirmed by the
City Council, not more than €eu-r three of whom may be
nonresidents of the City. A twel g:g tenth person shall
be appointed by the Tigard School Board and confirmed
by the City Council, and such person shall reside
within the established boundaries of the Tigard school
district. All board members shall have equal status in
recommendation and voting powers. Board members shall
receive no compensation.
Section 3
This ordinance shall become effective upon the 31st day after
its passage and signing by the Mayor.
