I submitted a letter at the building desk on Thursday at about 12:45 PM. I've attached the same
here. Dodie said we could come pick up the permit tomorrow (Friday), given that it actually is what you need. I

As required by the codes adopted by the City of Tigard and regardng alternate proposals as allowed by TVFR
Fire Marshal Jon Dalby, we submit our intention concerning the Nelson Vial office construction to be located at
7000 SW Vams St.
In general, we understand the NFPA 72 code's expectations and intent that we install a fire alarm detection
system that:
• has proper equipment, components, and devices as determined by a qualified professional per
chapter 4
• is subject to inspection, testing, and maintenance during installation and normal use per chapter 10
of
• utilizes a supervising station per chapter 8
• fulfills the intent of the code to prevent loss of property, person, and resources
Specifically, we will, accordng to verbal agreement and this written submission, install as required an alarm
system in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association code NFPA 72 as found in the National
Fire Alarm Code®, 2002 Edition.

FIRE HYDRANTS /FIRE LIFE & SAFETY
1. The site has a fire hydrant flow test of 1,164 GPM, the applicant Vial & Pham LLC, are purposing an
Central Station Fire Alarm System designed per NFPA 72 in lieu of a sprinkler system as an altemant as
allowed per TVF&R hydrant worksheet C -2 to achieve a reduction of fire flow. This alternate was
submitted in writing and approved by the Deputy Fire Marshal - John Dalby (503) 356 -4700. per OFC
104.9 and excepted by the building department
EROSION
2. Erosion control measures shall be in place prior to excavation or grading.
ACCESSIBILITY
3. Accessible walkways and routes shall not exceed a running slope of 1 unit vertical in 20 units horizontal
(5% slope). Cross slopes shall not exceed I unit vertical in 50 units horizontal (2% slope).
4. Accessible parking spaces and access aisles shall be located on a surface with a slope not to exceed 1 unit

5. The accessible parking sign is required to be 84 inches to the bottom of the sign.
