On July 26, 2000 BPB plc purchased the gypsum board and acoustical ceiling businesses of the Celotex Corporation. The former Celotex gypsum board facilities and products were merged into BPB corporations operating in North America. On March 13, 2002 BPB plc announced the acquisition of the James Hardie Gypsum manufacturing facilities.
