As the new plans examiner, I have inherited your application. After
reviewing the material you submitted on November 21, 1995, I find the
following requirements of our May 15, 1995 plan review letter have not
been addressed.
l/7% Item #1.
2/. Item #3. Provide specifications.
2/ Item #4. Provide a detail of edge protection for the ramp and
guardrail specifications for deck, ramp, and stairways that are 30"
/ or more above ground level.
4. Item #6. Obtain, complete, and submit applications for permits for
each of the modular units.
5 . Item #8. Provide a drawing detail of the accessible restroom access
route and of the restrooms. Show dimensions, fixture locations, and
height above finish floor.

Item #11. Provide a site plan showing final layout, dimensions,
accessible route from the public way to the accessible entrance of
each unit.
Please provide three (3) copies of the revised plans with all
requirements noted.

Inspection. This permit was issued for the placement of three modular office buildings, a
deck, and a ramp. A correction notice was issued on June 9, 1998. Please complete the
corrections from the June 9, 1998 inspection and schedule a final inspection within 30
days.

1 � The plans for this project were reviewed for conformity with

The maximum slope of the ramp shall not be steeper than 1:12.

inches above the ramp surfaces. Such handrails shall extend
not less than 12• beyond the top and bottom of the ramp.

The double -cross beams shall be not less than 2 X 6 members.
A permit is required for each modular unit. Modular setup
requirements are addressed in Section 5005. Provide the
following for each unit:
• Valuation
• Floor Plan
. A paved accessible parking space must be provided with an
accessible paved path of travel to the ramp. __
An accessible sanitary facility must be provided. If
accessible facility is in existing building, then there must
be an accessible path of travel from units to that sanitary
facility.
9. Units must be anchored to resist lateral loads. Provide
engineered anchorage details.

The units must bear an insignia of inspection approval from
the State of Oregon.

We apologize for the delay in getting this response to you. In
regards to your letter dated December 1, 1995, I will address your
questions by number.
1 Item #1: All building materials, including structural supports
used in the construction of the deck, were of pressure treated
wood and materials resistant to decay.
Item #3: In accordance with Section 3109, we affixed a non -skid
sandpaper surface to the entire ramp.
3! Item #4: Edge protection for the ramp is a wooden strip,
1" X 1 ". Guardrail /handrail height is 36" above the ramp and
deck as well as all stairways.
I4. Item #6: Modular units were placed and anchored by Modern
Building Systems. The only contractor's involved were
Willamette Electric and Phoenix Electric. No plumbing or
building construction involved. The electrical contractors
obtained their own permits for this work. Attached are permit
/ applications for each of the modular units.
65 Item #8: Drawing of restroom showing location of fixtures,
placement and height of bar from floor and drawing of restroom
�� access route and location of restroom in building are attached.
11e• Item #9: Engineered anchorage details are included with report
from Froelich Consulting Engineers and Modern Building Systems.
Modern Building Systems placed and anchored each of the
trailers.
Item #11: A site plan showing final layout, dimensions,
accessible route from the public way to the accessible entrance
of each unit is attached.
Three copies of the revised plans with all requirements noted
are attached.
