My numbered responses correlate to your numerical listing of comments. All changes have been clouded and given a Delta 1 designation. General Comments: To help clarify some issues which were discussed during the bidding process two new sheets (1.1A & 5.6) have been added to the documents. These documents provide additional dimensions and detail information. Energy Compliance: 1. Energy compliance forms 5.a., 5.b, worksheet 5.b., and revised sheet 2.5 (Delta 1) have been enclosed for your review. City of Tigard -Robert Poskin Building Plan Review - Pacific Car Wash January 26, 1998 Page 2 Fire And Life Safety: 1. The equivalent thickness of a 8" wide X 4" high X 16" long empty "Redcliff Giant" is 4.28 which provides a 2 hour fire rating. See enclosed "technical data sheet/physical characteristics" from I.XL hollow clay design guide. This will provide the 1 hour X eparation as required in section 302.5. 80 . A second door is not required. The service does not exceed 400amps. No storage of idle combustible pallets is anticipated or associated with this type of 0 facility or the products used. . I believe this section of the U.F.C. is discussing spray booths which provides an "application of flammable finishes" to a product such as a painting operation. A car wash facility does not appear to be under the requirement of this section of the U.F.C. Structural: 1. A lateral analysis has been enclosed for your review. 2. Our intent was to require the truss manufacturer to be responsible for designing their trusses to accommodate the dryer loads. A note clarifying this has been added to sheet 0.4, division 6, trusses. 3. This requirement has been noted on sheet 0.4, division 6, trusses. 4. This is a load bearing masonry wall system - not a veneer system. Typically we have not provided weep holes in load bearing masonry (clay) or block (C.M.U.) systems. We have reviewed the B.I.A. technical notes and N.C.M.A. technical notes again and have not been able to find reference documentation requiring weep holes. Mechanical: 1. This requirement has been noted on sheet 0.4, section 15, mechanical. If you have any further questions or comments please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, ,—*,..,,,........ -1) aft-oLLA James D.
