The attached calculations L -1 through L -14 and G -1 through G -6, and drawings S -1 through S -5, were based on the requirements of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. The structural work to be done in this remodel consists of removal and modification of several existing interior bearing walls and shear walls. We have replaced the removed existing structural walls with steel moment frames and wood shear walls in an effort to minimize the impact to the roof diaphragms and exterior shear walls, and to match the original load paths. New elements and modifications to existing lateral resisting elements were based on zone 3 seismic and 80 mph exposure B wind load as per the 1994 Uniform Building Code.
