Dear Mr Sieg,
Both of the above permits have expired as we discussed on the telephone today.
The last inspections were 12/30/97, extending the permit to 6/30/98. On Sep 9,
1998 you wrote for extension of these permits, which, if approved, would require
a fee equal to 1/2 the original permit fee per Section 111.3.2 of the Oregon 1 & 2
Family Dwelling Code.
At the building inspector's (Warren Jackson) suggestion I will grant an extension
of permit MST97 -0381 effective 6/30/98 for a period of 180 days, since it is the
most advanced of the two. However, as we agreed, you must progress to an
approved framing inspection prior to the end of the 180 day period.
The other permit, MST97 -0384, has not progressed beyond the foundation stage
at this time and will have to be renewed. This will require paying 1/2 the original
building permit fee ($40.25 plus OR tax 5 %). This can be paid at the DST
counter at City Hall at your convenience (prior to Dec 25, 1998) and will renew
your permit for 180 days. Then you will need significant progress (approved
major inspection) every 180 days or less to keep the permit current.

Dear Hap Watkins:
It has come to my attention that the following two building permits are about to expire:
MST97 -0381 addition for house and MST97 -0384 detached garage. I am requesting
extensions on both of them. The reason there has not been any inspection activity lately is
because we have been doing the framing ourselves on the addition. We are to the point
were the roofing material will go on next. A shear wall inspection should take place either
this month or next.
I was hoping to have the addition finished prior to working on the detached garage
(presently the foundation is finished). Please call and explain when the shear wall
inspection for the detached garage needs to take place by. It is my understanding that this
has to happen prior to 180 days of the extension. I would like to confirm if this is correct.
