The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
01) 1999 edition. The following information is required prior to issuance of a Mechanical
Permit.
1. The permit application was not completed. Provide description of the work and owner
information. See enclosed permit application.
RRESPONSE ACCEPTED
2. Provide equipment cut sheets along with Oregon Department of Energy forms. The
cut sheets shall include unit weight, cfm, btu rating, energy efficiency rating.
RESPONSE PARTIALLY ACCEPTED — the Oregon Department of Energy forms were
not received with the current submittal. I have enclosed a copy to be submitted with the next
submittal.
3. Provide the weight and location of existing equipment supported on the roof
structure.
RESPONSE ACCEPTED
4. Provide a roof framing plan for review to determine the adequacy of the existing
structure to support additional loading imposed by the new mechanical units. If roof
structure is inadequate, structural upgrades will be required.
RESPONSE PARTIALLY ACCEPTED - The existing framing elements are adequate if the
load is equally distributed to the framing members. Provide a design stamped by a Licensed
Oregon Engineer for a method of distributing the load to 6 framing members. The plan
submitted indicates 4 point loads

5. Permanent equipment supported by the structure, 400 lbs and over, shall have their
anchorage /attachments designed in accordance with the Building Code. 301.16
OMSC. See section 1632.1 of the Oregon Structural Specialty code for design
formulas.
RESPONSE NOT ACCEPTED — See section 1632.1 and provide calculations stamped by a
Licensed Oregon Engineer to support the design. The clips are not identified. Provide
product documentation for clip capability along with lateral design from chapter 16 section
1632.1
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and pro - ssing the documents.

or open side of a walking surface and such edge or open side is located more than 30
inches above the floor, roof or grade below. The guard shall be 42 inches above the
elevated surface with an intermediate rail so as not to allow the passage of a sphere,

than 2000 cfm. Upon activation, the smoke detector shall shut down the air
distribution system. Smoke detectors shall be connected to a fire alarm system and
shall activate an audible and visible alarm at a constantly attended location. 606.2,

3. Each appliance shall be provided with a shutoff valve separate from the appliance.
The shutoff valve shall be located in the same room and within six feet of the

4. Equipment and appliances regulated by this code requiring electrical connections
shall have a positive means of disconnect in accordance with the Electrical Code.

5. Appliances serving different areas of a building other than where they are installed
shall be permanently marked in an approved manner that uniquely identifies the

6. Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without
removal of permanent construction. 306.1 OMSC
7. Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the jobsite at the time of
inspection. 304.1 OMSC
8. Condensate from cooling coils or evaporators shall be collected and discharged to an
approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. 307.1 OMSC
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC
