• GRI completed a site visit to observe groundwater in the utility trench in front of lot 2 and between lots
1 and 2. At the time of the site visit, Cliff was pumping approximately In gpm from the gas/electric utility
trench at the southwest corner of the lot. Based on our discussions with Cliff f we understand water was
previously observed flowing from the slope below the emergency turn-around between lots 1 and 2. The
seepage was not observed after Cliff started pumping water from the utility trench.
In our opinion, there is some risk of slope instability due to the groundwater seepage observed below
the turn-around. To reduce the risk, we recommend a minimum 15 -ft -long section of perforated drain pipe be
placed in the utility trench to collect the seepage. The collected water should be hard -piped to either the creek
below the lot or the storm water sewer.
Our observations and recommendations were discussed with Cliff during the site visit.
