Subject: Candlewood Hotel/ Nex Tel Remote Unmanned Sa • Ili - Building
Gene:
1. You and Jim will be meeting with a representative of Candlewood Hotels to discuss
Fire requirements for this project. It's my understanding that you have pre- approved the placement
of 3 hydrants opposed to the 4 required, and you will not require a second access point if they

drawings, if you agree , i. ..c, r e,`' t5 / / r o 3 G ' G a 4 ‹' ` ' '`(
2. John Selenzi of Nex. Tel has indicated that he would be sending you a proposal as an
alternate to provide in two (2) unmanned buildings on Sandburg and on Main Street, a portable
extinguishing system. This portable system is a takeoff on the old halon systems, with a new type
Cit- gas that is environmentally and human safe. This alternate would offset the placement of a hydrant
within the required distance, and an approved access road.
The building on Main street is the most critical. In order for it to comply with OSSC requirements,
0 ( ef we will assume a property line. The buildings are pre - manufactured tilt -up panels 4" thick, having a
i rating of 2 hours, doors are one -hour rated, and there are no openings other than the main door and
. Lan 44
opening for an air conditioner, neither of which face a P/L.
The building on Sanburg requires no attention, however, they will install the portable system in this
also, so we might as well take it. The existing structure on the property is a 3N, ,5 storage
warehouse. It houses _ap 1p iances for delivery to retail stores. The allowable area is 18000, the
existing structure has 000 so this is just an additional building on the same property, and has an
equal construction rating as that of the existing building. Neither building requires a sprinkler
sys tom'

Re: Minor Modification to the U.S. West Monopole Facility for use by Nextel
Communications
Dear Mr. Young:
This letter is in response to your request for Minor Modification approval to the previous
Conditional Use Permit 97 -0003 that was approved for this site. The modification
request proposed to add a co- location platform to an existing monopole that would have
nine (9) antennae panels. The modification would also add an 11' x 20' prefabricated
concrete equipment shelter with two (2) Global Positioning antenna's mounted on the
roof of the equipment shelter. The Director has approved this request subject to the
findings contained in your April 27, 1998 request.
In order to avoid any. unnecessary delays, please submit a copy of this letter with the .
Building Permit application. .

Please ` feel free to contact me concerning this information.
