ASSISTED HOUSING According to Federal policies and <criteria, households earning 80 percent: or less of the areas median income are considered to be moderate income households, and households earning 50 percent or less of the areas median income are considered leP income households. It is likely that these groups' may need some housing ars'kstance. The 1980 . Census Data, Tigard 1980, revealed that approximately 41 percent of the households in the Tigard area have incomes at or below the moderate income level of Tigard. Low income 20% $10,030; Low - Moderate income 21% $16,050 Additionally, 34 percent, or approximately 1,986 househoulds, of the total households in Tigard are spending; more than 25% percent of their income on housing. Table 11-7 distinguishes from low and low-moderate incomes that are presently homeowners, and renters. :1
