Oregon 97223 Project: Portland Clinic Tenant Space Subject: Plan Review Response BUP# 96 -0625 Dear Robert, Please find listed below responses to your review comments dated December 17, 1996. Note that a number of issues have been addressed in the core and shell drawings associated with this project. I have indicated this in my replies. ENERGY COMPLIANCE 1. See attached forms as submitted by project Electrical Contractor. ACCESSIBILITY 1. Required exits as noted on table 10 -A, and illustrated on the drawings do provide accessible means of egress. 2. . Specified hardware for the doors meets accessibility requirements. 3. All wall mounted thermostats and light switches will be located not more than 44" above finish floor. FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY M A H L U M & N O R D F O R S 1. Hail 204, grid lines 3 -6 are to be constructed as a rated corridor per the core and shell SMITH drawings BUP# 96-0566. GORDON Architects PC 2. Area of rescue assistance has been identified within the stairwells as noted per the core SO SW and shell drawings BUP#96 -0566. Second Avenue Suite 600 3. A key box will be provided and will be issued as an addendum to the shell permit Portland. OR drawings. 4. Illuminated exit signs will be installed prior to final inspection of the tenant suite . 5. Five (5) fire extinguisher cabinets are located on the first floor and one (1) on the second floor. Signage stating "No storage permitted in this exit area will be installed in the required exit corridors. 7. The General Contractor, Andersen Construction, will submit evidence of elevator permits prior to requesting final inspection and occupancy of the building. 8. Addendum 3, detail of recessed equipment at 1 hour walls, copy attached, has been submitted to the general contractor. MECHANICAL/FIRE SPRINKLER 1. Mechanical and fire sprinkler plans and applications will be submitted by the appropriate subcontractors. It appears that in lieu of rated corridors (Drawing A2.1), you are exercising Exception #8, OSSC, 1005.7. However, Drawing A2.2 indicates the construction 01 of a one -hour corridor. This situation does not comply with 1003.5, exits through A 6 adjoining rooms. In order to comply, Hall 204, Line 3 -6, all doors within, the Pe Q` #' lobby, stairs, and lower lobby must be constructed as a corridor. 2.
